Mind over Matter

Church was amazing today! Bishop Hardman from Faith Woship Center spoke the importance of controlling your thoughts and having victory over your life.  Sometimes it is hard to control thoughts especially some negative ones.  I have came to the conclusion that I will no longer let thoughts or the opinion of others dictate my attitude or the way I think.  Do not always put your confidence in man (and woman) when you know the word and the God for yourself.  That's why it is important to know the word for yourself so that you will always have something to stand firm on through trials and tribulations.  I know for a fact if I did not know the word of God and have that relationship with him I would not be as blessed as I am nor have an inner peace that is essential in life.  My mentee and I went to watch Kungfoo Panda yesterday and one of the characters made a valid statement he said something along he lines of "with inner peace anything is possible."  I'm thinking to myself "amen" in the movie theatre lol. But find that inner peace and think of what is good and God like and have victory over your life! And now dear brothers and sisters, one final thing; Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right and pure and lovely and admirable; Think about things that are excellent and praiseworthy. -Phil 4:8

Do Not Fear

I am so grateful to say that today was my first commercial shoot for Legacy Chevrolet.  While I was at the shoot I was thinking back on when I even applied for the Legacy Chevrolet Spokesperson Contest and how I had a fear of not knowing whether or not I would make it this far, but by the grace of God I have this opportunity.  I feel that it is important to not let your circumstance hinder you from the blessing God has in store because being in bonage only limits you from your full potential.  At the Women's Leadership Conference we received an article called "Freedom From Fear" and it talks about how it is not power that corrupts  but fear.  A lady who spoke at the conference says that she is now at the top of the corporate ladder because she spoke out and made a change in her company.  Never miss an opportuntity due to the fear of the unknown.  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. -2 Timothy 1:7

Everything has its Time

I thank God for everyone and everything he has placed in my life thus far.  Recently I have been meeting the most extraordinary people who are impacting my life in a positive and encouraging manner.  This is day three of the Women's Leadership Conference at Lake Oconee and I met this lady and we were talking about how God works wonders and she says to me have you read Ecclesiastes 3:1-8? I could not recall, but when I got back to my cabin I began to read it 3:1 states, "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." And it continues to go into detail about a time to weep and a time to laugh and a time to speak and a time to keep silent, and as I was reading this I began to have flashbacks of the times I have wept versus the times I have laughed and times I had to let go of my job due to unforseen things that I had no control over, but I came to a realization that sometimes letting things go are the best thing that can happen in your life.  Things being left behind only opens doors for your future, so embrace the moments that do not go as planned and know that God will always have a bigger and better plan for you because there is a season for everything.   Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God - Phil 4:6
